Olivier Lortholary is Deputy Director of the French National Reference Center for Invasive Mycoses and Antifungals, co-director of the Medical Mycology course, Professor of Medicine at Paris Descartes University and Head of the Necker-Pasteur Center for Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine (Necker side).
His main research interests concern translational research in medical mycology with focus on Cryptococcus neoformans and cryptococcal meningitis, the leading opportunistic fungal infection in advanced HIV-infected patients and characterization of new immune deficiencies predisposing to human invasive fungal infections. His second research area concerns diagnostic and therapeutic innovations in invasive fungal infections. His third research area focuses on clinical and microbiological investigations of central nervous system and emerging infectious diseases.
